Will morning shows still air once baby-boomers die?
Sadie woke up early today. After getting up with her and dozing off on the couch, she unfortunately decided to turn on the Today Show on NBC. I don’t watch morning shows, and now I know why. The programming is pathetic — it’s like a prolonged advertisement filled with periodic non-news and weather updates every 10 minutes. Just horrible…
Which made me wonder: Will morning shows continue to air once the baby-boomer generation passes on? Who else is watching this dross?

Blake count yourself lucky…….at least Sadie is watching something somewhat educational……Kaitlyn only wants to watch the Doodle Bops. I would take the Today Show any day over that crap.

Yes. Network television will die and be replaced by more narrow casting.
When digital tv penetration is high enough, the momentum will grow.

At 7AM, I turn on Discovery HD Theater to watch Sunrise Earth / Sunrise International. It’s an almost 60 minute long non-narrative video piece of somewhere in the world while the sun comes up. It’s not one static shot, but it is very peaceful to have on in the background as I iron shirt and get my lunch together.

No, they will probably go the way of the nightly news.

They’ve all been struggling over the years.
