Don't feel bad. My significant-other, whose Japanese, also doesn't like sushi. Personally, I love it. I can go to the 100yen kaiten sushi bars in Japan and eat well over $15 worth of sushi. That's 15 plates, with two decent size pieces each. Here in America, even on the coasts sushi just isn't that good. Maybe it's the location...? i.e. Not Japan?

BTW, how come you're blog postings are written way much better than the crap you post on Gamepro? Maybe it's because you're not trying to be a gasoline tossing tard.

I've learned that in order to like sushi, one has to eat it at least seven times before it begins to taste good. It's an acquired taste - I too used to dislike it. Once I discovered wasabi mixed with soy sauce, though, that's when my love of sushi grew exponentially. I guess you could say I have a love of wasabi and soy dipped in sushi.

Have you ever had a shrimp tempura roll (fried shrimp is good in anything) or a cucumber/avocado roll (sushi isn't just raw meat and rice). Give it three more chances.

I eat sushi once a week. Going on WeightWatchers over a year ago, I was pleased to find that sushi is low fat/calories, but still very filling. I have 'trained' myself to eat less and feel plenty full.

That said, I like the whole process of going for sushi lunch at work. The hot towel when you sit down, hot tea, miso soup, a salad .. and then the sushi special. It truly does matter where you get it. If it's in plastic at the grocery store (or mall) it's going to taste like the container it's in.

I'm a big guy, I like sushi, and I don't feel like I need a nap after I get back to work.

ha! first off, there is no such thing as good sushi in utah. period. it's geographically impossible. but even having lived in japan and having tasted it at the source, i will still have to agree with blake on this one. although, you have to differentiate sushi (see opening paragraph) from sashimi, the raw fish part.

regardless, i too prefer a steak.

Raw Fish (Doesn't taste good)

I hate Sushi too.

I feel the same way when fanboys talk to me about Apple. Yes, I've tried it and it sucks.
