I’d happily fly Continental again

Continental Airlines

Lindsey and I took the girls to visit their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins in good ‘ole Georgia last week. We found a smoking deal on airfare, which just so happen to be on Continental — a first for yours truly who usually flies Delta (for no other reason that low fares and a sky miles account).

I must say, I was impressed with the “service to Atlanta.” First off, Continental coach is way more roomy than any other consumer airline I’ve flown over the last decade, maybe ever. The seats aren’t leather, but they’re comfy, and I’d take legroom over leather any day.

Amazingly, Continental still serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to cabin goers at no charge (one of the last remaining airlines to do so, according to Wikipedia). Our connection flight didn’t fly during lunch, but we ate delicious bananas, corn flakes, and fresh orange juice for breakfast during our morning flight.

What’s more, the friendly flight attendants asked me at least a half dozen times if they could get me something to drink, in addition to in-flight snakes.

To top it off, my flight crew was the nicest I’ve ever had the pleasure of flying with — opening bathroom doors, always asking if there was anything I needed. Suffice it to say, I’ll be flying Continental a lot more now. I suspect (and hope) their superior service pays off for them.

We flew Continental on our recent trip to Germany and loved it. We got meals on every flight (there was a layover in Newark for both flights), two checked bags each for no add’l money, in-flight movies for free…

I hope the flight attendants were not opening the door when you were in the bathroom. That’s pushing friendliness to the limits.
