"Griffio" – What does it all mean?
I get asked every now and then how I came up with the name Griffio. Well, I thought i’d take a little minute to indulge you with a quick story.
In the summer of 2003, Dave Andersen (my first partner) and I were trying to come up with names for our new web development company. We created this long list to try our hand at. Some good. Some not so good. Some just flat out silly (see link).
Anyhoo, I was reading an article on the internet one day and I noticed the author was an Italian man by the last name Griffo. At that same time, I was mentoring with a gentleman from Seatlle of the now defunct IT consultancy Experio (now known as Hitachi Consulting). I liked the “io” in Experio and i liked the “g” in griffo. I just started playing around with it, until Griffio came out, and the name stuck. My sister Lexia liked the name as well and told me I should play off the “g” for our company logo. From the feedback we’ve gotten on it, i think it worked. Thanks Lex!
So there you have it. May the name last and become synonymous with great web development.

Griffio is a cool name and all, but in reality it doesn’t compare to Smooth Harold. Now that is what I’m talking about. ;)

weird i was searching Griffo too and i found this. thats my last name, what was the mans name in seattle? my dad lives there and his last name is Griffo, and his first name is Evan
