Are you kidding me? 37 consecutive mag ads?
The July 2008 issue of Transworld Skateboarding has seemingly set a new world record for a magazine: 37 back-to-back full-page ads. I’m not kidding. The format looks something like this:

The feat makes Wired Magazine’s ad-filled issues look tame. Worse still, Transworld editorial is shallow for the most part. I subscribed to the magazine because I think flying skateboarders look cool, but I’m disappointed with my subscritption so far.

When I was in high school, I used to buy Transworld for the ads. I liked looking at skateboarding pictures as well, but the main draw was the cool art in a lot of the ads. This was pre-Internet, of course.

My mother-in-law got my wife and I a subscription to Prevention magazine a couple years back. It’s about the size of Reader’s Digest, and is filled to capacity with those cardboard tear-out mailer ads. I had to stop reading the stupid thing after a couple issues. So annoying - especially when you’re trying to quickly flip to a specific page.
